Richard Watts has been with Granite since 2003, and is?currently serving as senior vice president, group manager?of Granite’s?Water and Mineral Services (WMS) Group. Based in the Woodlands, Texas, WMS includes Layne Christensen, Granite Inliner, LiquiForce, and International Directional Services (IDS).?Richard is responsible for providing the Group’s strategic direction while setting the vision and standards for financial and safety performance, as well as compliance, business growth, and employee development.
Prior to his current role, Richard served as division counsel, assistant general counsel and general counsel for Granite Construction, Inc.?
Before joining Granite, Richard served as counsel to Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. He also worked as an attorney for the firm Cokinos, Bosien and Young. Earlier in his career, he was a professional engineer for Turner, Collie and Braden, and also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Richard received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and received a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
